Frequent Questions

Consumer confidence reports (CCRs), or annual drinking water quality reports, are required to list information on the regulated contaminants that a community water system has detected in the water. What does ?detected? mean for this requirement?

For the purposes of the CCR regulations in 40 CFR, Subpart O, detected means: ? at or above the levels prescribed by 141.23(a)(4) for inorganic contaminants, ? at or above the levels prescribed by 141.24(f)(7) for organic contaminants, ? at or above the levels prescribed by 141.24(h)(18) for synthetic organic contaminants, ? at or above the levels prescribed by 141.131(b)(2)(iv) for disinfection byproducts, ? and at or above the levels prescribed by 141.25(c) for radioactive contaminants.
