Frequent Questions

How is Cryptosporidium data reported in the DCTS?

If no oocysts are detected in a sample, Cryptosporidium should be reported as zero oocysts. If oocysts are detected, the number of oocysts in the fluorescent antibody column on the Crypto report form should be reported. However, a laboratory should provide an easy to understand report form which clearly states the number of oocysts which were found in the sample and the volume of sample analyzed. The final result should be reported as oocysts found and the volume of the sample analyzed in liters. For the LT2 Data Collection and Tracking System oocysts are to be reported as total oocysts and volume analyzed.
